Curtain falls on Europe's top basketball tournament for another season

Athens, Greece – AEK were crowned winners of the 2017/18 Basketball Champions League in front of their home fans on Sunday as the Final Four drew to a close before a global audience of millions.

The hosts beat last year's third-placed team AS Monaco of France 100-94 in the final to claim a maiden title. Spain's UCAM Murcia beat Germany's MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg to third place. Mike Green of AEK Athens was named MVP.

The tournament – now in its second season – began in October with 32 teams battling out for the top prize.
