Infront signs with the real estate company for Europe’s leading basketball league
Istanbul, Turkey – The 2016/17 Basketball Super League concluded this past Friday with Fenerbahçe Basketbol winning the trophy for the second time in a row. And big news is continuing: As of next season, the Turkish top-tier basketball league will have a new name - Tahincioğlu Basketball Super League. Infront Sports & Media, a Wanda Sports company, as the exclusive media and marketing partner of the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF), has signed the Title Sponsorship with the real estate company for three years until the end of the 2019/20 season. The new contract was announced today at a press conference in Istanbul, Turkey.
Tahincioğlu Real Estate is a Tahincioğlu Holding group company, operating in real estate development and investment. Tahincioğlu Real Estate, one of Turkey’s leading trademarks in the real estate industry, undertakes premium retail, office, residence and shopping mall projects as well as the construction and development of luxury hotels.
As Title Sponsor, Tahincioğlu benefits from a composite logo used widely across the season. The logo will be integrated amongst others in TV inserts, on LED boards around the court, on the jerseys of all 16 teams, on court stickers, foot mats and zeppelins and across all communication platforms. In addition, Tahincioğlu will leverage their investment with a 360 degree communication plan – amongst others by producing TV commercials with players from each team three times a year. The package is completed by various promotion and activation opportunities such as in-game highlights and mascot use.
Özcan Tahincioğlu, Chairman of Tahincioğlu: “This partnership marks a historic day for Tahincioğlu. We are aware that developed countries have long-term sports visions and make significant achievements in this context. Turkey has been making its name through numerous achievements in many sports branches. This success, which has reached all the way to claiming the top spot in European basketball, is a great source of pride for us. In order to keep this up and further amplify it, we are relaying the support we have provided for many projects, particularly in the area of culture, arts and education, to the sports arena through our cooperation with the Turkish Basketball Federation. Tahincioğlu has played a big role in helping dreams come true in some of the best real estate projects and from now on we will also be supporting dreams in the basketball arena. I wish all the best for the teams and players in the Tahincioğlu Basketball Super League!”
Ender Uslu, Managing Director of Infront Turkey: “Basketball in general and the Basketball Super League in particular are enjoying high popularity not only in Turkey but far beyond. Year after year the league expands its media reach and viewership by up to 50 per cent, demonstrating significant increases when compared to previous seasons. With Tahincioğlu, we have found a partner who is a very enthusiastic company and eager to actively use basketball to deliver their messages to customers. Therefore their sponsorship will both improve the brand’s awareness and also the equity of the Basketball Super League – a win-win situation for all parties involved.”
The 2017/18 Tahincioğlu Basketball Super League’s regular season is to tip off with eight games on 7 October with the playoffs following in May 2018.
