Istanbul, Turkey – Infront Sports & Media, a Wanda Sports company, has secured a sponsorship agreement with Unilever brand – Rexona, the antiperspirant, for the Turkish men’s national basketball team and the FIBA EuroBasket2017 tournament taking place from 31 August until 17 September in Finland, Israel, Romania and Turkey. Infront brokered the agreement as part of its exclusive role as global media and marketing partner of the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF). The official announcement was made today at a press conference organised at Zorlu PSM Sky Lounge in Istanbul.

The sponsorship agreements with Rexona provide the brand with extensive exposure and great brand alignment - boosting awareness nationwide through the national team sponsorship, as well as across Europe targeting a wider audience through the FIBA EuroBasket2017.

As a Main Sponsor of the Turkish men’s national basketball team until the end of the year, Rexona will receive a comprehensive package of rights including: the production of TV commercials featuring national team players, logo visibility on LED boards and on-court stickers at home matches of the national team as well as exclusive meet-and-greet sessions with players. Additionally, for FIBA EuroBasket2017, Rexona will benefit from key logo visibility on LED boards, a ticketing contingent, fan zone activations, social media activations and usage of game visuals.

Alper Eroğlu, Marketing Director at Unilever: “As the world’s number one deodorant brand, we have been aiming to disrupt the norms and inspire people to move more in everyday moments. For the past couple of years, we have explored key themes using cultural influences and media to distil an ideology behind the local and unique movements in Turkey. As a step forward, we are proud to announce our sponsorship of the Turkish men’s national basketball team and EuroBasket2017, which Turkey has the honour to host for the finals. Being one of the Europe’s best basketball teams, the players have given us amazing moments and success stories that have taken our breath away. We are proud to support the team and millions of passionate fans behind them. We believe they will never let us down and wish them a great tournament. We would like to thank Infront for their contribution to help us realize this great partnership.”

Hidayet Türkoğlu, President of the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF): “The FIBA EuroBasket2017 is approaching fast - a milestone for Turkish basketball. It is our first priority to present a team on court of whom the entire Turkish nation will be proud. In Turkey, we will stage the matches of the Group D as well as the final leg and are grateful for all the institutions and organisations that support the development of Turkish basketball. In this context, I am pleased to announce Rexona as sponsor of the Turkish men’s national basketball team and the FIBA EuroBasket2017 tournament. We consider this sponsorship agreement as the beginning of a highly productive collaboration and thank the Rexona brand and Unilever for their trust in Turkish basketball.”

Ender Uslu, Managing Director of Infront Turkey: “This is a fantastic sponsorship agreement with a major international brand. Unilever’s Rexona recognises the value of the platform by targeting consumers in the domestic market through highly advantageous brand alignment with national sports heroes. At the same time, Rexona can fully grasp the added benefits of the FIBA EuroBasket2017. As a result, we expect sophisticated activation tactics, which will help to boost the spread of the sports platform and the sponsorship even further. I am very glad that the relationship with the Turkish Basketball Federation is thriving, covering not only the Basketball Super League but also the men’s national team and other TBF assets. This sponsorship agreement highlights the success of our relationship with the TBF.”

The FIBA EuroBasket2017 will tip-off with six games on 31 August with the Round of 16 following on 9 September. The final will be played in the Erdem Arena in Istanbul on 17 September.
