Bremen, Germany - WIESENHOF is to continue its successful partnership with SV Werder Bremen for another year and will remain the Main and Shirt Sponsor until June 2017. WIESENHOF’s Chairman of the Board Peter Wesjohann and Werder’s CEO Klaus Filbry announced the prolongation this morning. The contract renewal was brokered by Infront Sports & Media, marketing partner of SV Werder Bremen.
Peter Wesjohann, WIESENHOF’s Chairman of the Board, said: “Since the beginning of the sponsorship in 2012, we have held a successful partnership. We will continue taking advantage of the cooperation with Werder Bremen to communicate our knowledge of regional and sustainable production of poultry meat and food in Germany and to further increase exposure for WIESENHOF’s classic, as well as, newly introduced vegetarian products.”
For decades, the company has fostered an exchange with consumer and animal welfare organisations, politicians and contracted farmers, as well as, with science and business communities. In addition, the brand is now further intensifying its engagement with football fans in the region. “We have identified that fans not only care about football but also have a strong interest in food matters and our company,” Wesjohann added.
Klaus Filbry, CEO of Werder Bremen, commented: “Over recent years, WIESENHOF has been very active by our side. In difficult sportive times, they have intensified their activities and remain supportive as we consequently implement Werder’s strategy and ensure our team and club are well prepared for the future.”
A few weeks ago, WIESENHOF financially supported the signing of forward player Claudio Pizarro. In addition, they have backed Werder in a number of other areas: Since last July, WIESENHOF has also been the Main and Shirt Sponsor of Werder Bremen’s women's Bundesliga team.
