Intersport Germany becomes official retail partner of Megamarsch

Two-year Partnership strengthens the participant experience and connects the expertise of Columbia, Intersport Germany and Megamarsch 

Mönchengladbach, Germany – Megamarsch, a subsidiary of Infront and the leading organiser of long-distance hiking events in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Spain, entered a two‑year partnership with Intersport Germany from 2026.  The world’s leading sports retailer will become the official retail partner of Megamarsch, with presence at almost all event locations. The collaboration complements Megamarsch’s exclusive presenting partnership with Columbia and combines the strengths of all three brands across the entire participant journey.

Ahead of each event, Intersport Germany will play a central role in selected stores, where Megamarsch participants can complete their official check‑in, collect starter packs and receive tailored advice on their equipment. The focus will be on Columbia products specifically designed for the demands of long‑distance hikes – from footwear and waterproof jackets to functional apparel and accessories.

During the events, the partnership will be visible through co‑branded participant materials, photo points along the route and motivational elements such as trophy vouchers. These measures are designed to provide additional encouragement, create emotional memories and strengthen the bond within the Megamarsch community.

Another key element is the recognition of volunteers. A new buddy pass model will acknowledge the contribution of volunteers through a tiered reward system including gifts and benefits from Columbia, Intersport Germany and Megamarsch, making their commitment more visible and encouraging long‑term involvement.
