Hannesson to focus on acquisitions and exploitation of winter sport media rights

Zug, Switzerland – Infront has appointed Ingolfur Hannesson as an exclusive strategic advisor focused primarily on future acquisitions and the exploitation of winter sport media rights.

Bruno Marty, Infront's Senior Vice President Winter Sports said: “Ingolfur is one of the few and most seasoned experts within the field of winter sport media rights. We are pleased we could exclusively secure his services and unique expertise to further strengthen our media rights portfolio and our market-leading position in global winter sports.”

For more than a decade Hannesson was director of TV&Radio Sports at RUV in Iceland before joining the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), where he ran the winter and indoor sports media rights portfolio for over 16 years. Hannesson, an Iceland national, left the EBU mid-2018.
