Zug, Switzerland – Starting from the 2025/26 season, Conrad Electronic will serve as the official Timing and Electronics Partner of the BMW IBU Biathlon World Cup. The partnership was facilitated by Infront, the long-standing and exclusive marketing partner of the International Biathlon Union (IBU).
The collaboration brings together two worlds where precision, reliability, and technical expertise are essential. As a partner, Conrad will support organisers at ten venues across nine European countries with a wide range of technical solutions and electronic products. This strengthens the technological foundation of the World Cup and contributes to the ongoing development of one of Europe’s most popular winter sports series.
The partnership will officially kick off at the season opener in Östersund, Sweden, at the end of November. Conrad had already made its presence felt earlier at the Loop One Festival in Munich, where biathlon stars competed on roller skis in an urban setting for the first time.
By joining the BMW IBU Biathlon World Cup, Conrad underscores its commitment to technological excellence in elite international sport while enhancing its visibility in a dynamic and valuable environment.
Ralf Bühler, CEO Conrad Electronic, said: "In biathlon, precision matters every second – for athletes as well as for the technology behind the scenes. We see a strong connection in this partnership. Conrad stands for efficient, digital procurement processes and for linking people with technology. That fits perfectly with biathlon and its continuous evolution."
Olle Dahlin, President of the International Biathlon Union (IBU), said: "We are delighted to welcome Conrad Electronic as a new partner in the IBU Biathlon World Cup. High-quality technical equipment and precision are fundamental to our sport. With Conrad, we gain a partner that not only brings great expertise in these areas but also shares our values of innovation and continuous development. Together, we look forward to strengthening biathlon for athletes and fans and setting new impulses."
Michael Witta, Senior Vice President Marketing Sales & Services at Infront, added: "This partnership demonstrates how technology and elite sport can benefit from each other. Conrad brings strong expertise in professional procurement and technical infrastructure. This makes Conrad a partner that credibly supports the IBU’s commitment to innovation and efficiency."
