First edition of country-wide basketball initiative deemed success with winners set to represent China at FIBA 3x3 event

Shenzhen, China — The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) 3x3 "Road to Olympics" National Final drew to a close in Shenzhen, China on April 21-22, 2018, with Dongguan Mayong and Shangai Women's Basketball team claiming the men's and women's titles respectively.

The tournament grants each winner a place at a FIBA 3x3 event, with both sides now set to represent China at the 2018 FIBA 3x3 ASIA Cup in Shenzhen this week.

Tsinghua High School and Shandong Lottery Youth team claimed the men’s and women’s youth group titles and have been selected for the U18 National Team.

In addition to the final games a mixed shootout, skills challenge and slam-dunk final were held to give more people the chance show their skills on a higher stage.

Building a foundation in China

Basketball is already one of China's most popular sports. The launch of the "Road to Olympics" tournament is one way Infront and the CBA are helping innovate the concentrated discipline of the sport in the country.

With 3x3 set to be played at the Olympic Games for the first time during Tokyo 2020, Infront China's role as exclusive marketing partner is to help commercial development of the event.

Anne Zhao, Infront China Managing Director, was onsite at Sunday's final, along with Chinese basketball legend Wang Zhizhi and Chinese Basketball Commentator Xu Jicheng.
