B2Run heading for records: Six inaugural events in 2017 with an expected participation increase of nearly 20 per cent

Zug, Switzerland – Infront B2Run, a subsidiary of the international sports marketing company Infront Sports & Media, is ready for another successful running season. The 2017 B2Run event series will kick off on 4 May with B2Run Aachen in Germany, the country where the corporate running series originated. Overall, at least 35 races will be staged across seven countries – culminating with the final race on 16 November in Cape Town, South Africa, the first non-European country of the B2Run series.

During the 2017 season, B2Run will stage events in seven countries including Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland and South Africa. The Netherlands and South Africa were most recently added to the portfolio, showing the growing success of the format and brand.

Besides the three races in South Africa (Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg) and one in the Netherlands (Amsterdam), Iasi in Romania and Porto in Portugal will stage inaugural events in their respective countries.

For the 2017 season, B2Run is anticipating a record attendance of up to 236,000 runners – almost a 20 per cent increase compared to 200,000 in 2016.

Hans-Peter Zurbruegg, Director Active Lifestyle & Endurance at Infront: “The upcoming B2Run season is packed with highlights: The Netherlands have joined the series with a kick-off event in the iconic Amsterdam Arena in June and for the first time ever, we are staging B2Run races outside Europe in the beautiful scenery of South Africa. We are proud of the growth we have managed to achieve. Since Infront took over B2Run in 2014, the series has grown from 10 events in Germany to 35 events in seven countries. We are continuously aiming to become the biggest global corporate running series.”
