Italian brand to clothe Bundesliga club at all levels

Mainz, Germany – German Bundesliga football club FSV Mainz 05 will play in Kappa-branded kit for five years as of the 2020/21 season in a wide-ranging partnership secured by Infront.

The Turin-based sports brand will supply playing jerseys and training apparel to all football teams associated with the club from under 8 level right up to professional level.

Next season's jersey – due for release later this year – will also be worn by the club's handball and table tennis teams. Fans will also benefit from the partnership thanks to a new range of products and plans to incorporate more sustainable materials in the future.

Infront Germany Managing Director Marco Sautner said: "Mainz 05 has a well-known and globally experienced partner at its side in Kappa. The shared values form a strong basis for a successful partnership."

Mainz 05 Commercial Director Jan Lehmann said: "With Kappa we were not only able to win a globally known brand as a supplier, but also a partner who shares our values. The Kappa logo unites two people in sport, it symbolises fairness and respect - things that are of key  importance to our club.”

Kappa Deutschland GmbH Managing Director Cornelia Schmidt said: “Mainz 05 has not only managed to establish itself in the Bundesliga, but has also developed a positive brand. We are very pleased to be able to accompany the club from the 2020/2021 season onwards and are convinced both Mainz 05 and Kappa will benefit from this partnership.”

About Kappa

In 1967 the sports fashion label KAPPA was founded in Turin, Italy. Created back in the 1970s, the Omini logo is world-famous nowadays – symbolizing KAPPA’s idea of sportsmanship in the field of sports and our everyday challenges.

The end of the 1970s marked the beginning of KAPPA’s commitment to Europe’s club football. After the first technical sponsorship in Italian football history (Juventus Turin) several other sponsorships with European top level football clubs like A.C. Milan, Barcelona F.C., A.S. Roma and Ajax Amsterdam followed.

Today Kappa’s tradition of aligning itself with the best teams and players in sports continues as the sponsor of clubs such as SSC Napoli, Aston Villa, Betis Sevilla, AS Monaco, Leeds United und Botafogo.

Since 2000, Kappa has been the official supplier of well-known Bundesliga clubs such as FC St. Pauli, 1 FC Kaiserslautern, 1860 Munich, Werder Bremen, Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach and VfL Wolfsburg. Together with BVB and Werder Bremen the doubles’ victory was celebrated.
