Multi-property deal to deliver more sport through public channels in Austria

Zug, Switzerland – Infront, a Wanda Sports Group company, has announced new media rights agreements for the European Handball Federation (EHF), International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) and International Skating Union (ISU) with Austrian public broadcaster ORF.

The partnerships include free-to-air rights for the 2020, 2022 and 2024 EHF EUROs as well as all EHF EUROs Qualification away matches of the Austrian men's and women's national handball teams. Next year’s edition will be hosted jointly by Austria along with Norway and Sweden from 9-26 January.

It also incorporates all ISU speed skating, short track and figure skating events up until the 2022/23 season, including the ISU European Figure Skating Championships due to take place in Graz, Austria from 20-26 January 2020.

With two flagship events set to be held in Austria, it guarantees a broad market share in a key European territory.

The IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships will also be shown by the broadcaster from 2024-2026, extending ORF's current agreement for the tournament.
