IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship and Infront Productions

Every May, 16 national teams compete in over 64 games for ice hockey’s most prestigious annual prize. Working alongside the IIHF since 1981 and handling full project management of live and non-live content since 2017, Infront Productions oversees every element of the Championship’s broadcast output.

It’s enormous in scale. 130 production crew across two venues. 31 cameras per arena (rising to 34 for the final weekend), incl. ref cams, tunnel cams, and cable cams. Editorial producers feeding live stats to commentators. Dedicated B-roll crews filming player arrivals and behind-the-scenes access.

Key priorities for the production strategy in 2025 included:

  • Deepening engagement through greater behind-the-scenes access
  • Achieving consistency across two separate venues in Stockholm, Sweden and Herning, Denmark
  • Expanding content output beyond the world feed
  • Delivering immersive live coverage through varied camera angles
  • Empowering broadcasters with flexible editorial support and ISO feeds
