Germany's largest running series starts on Thursday 26 April in Aachen

Zug, Switzerland — B2Run, Germany's largest running series, begins its 2018 season on Thursday 26 April in Aachen. Once more, thanks to the partnership with E.ON., all runs will be carbon neutral. More than 195,000 participants from approximately 9,500 companies will take part across 17 different locations throughout Germany. Taking part in B2Run events provides an ideal opportunity to get to know colleagues in a more relaxed situation. Many companies join B2Run to promote cohesion and motivation among employees.

Zero carbon footprint

This year will once again see Germany's largest run series be completely carbon neutral. In cooperation with energy provider E.ON, B2Run achieves a net zero carbon footprint for the entire series. The aim of the joint-environmental commitment is to reduce CO2 emissions and offset the CO2 released by means of selected climate protection projects in Mali and Costa Rica. Uwe Kolks, Managing Director of E.ON Energie Deutschland: "As a longtime regional partner of running sports, we are proud to be involved in German B2Run races to make them carbon neutral. These carbon-neutral races are an ideal match for our sports sponsorship, which we use to help protect the environment and make people aware that energy can be saved everywhere."

During the 2017 season 1,838 tonnes of CO2 were offset. This is equivalent of 1.5 times the volume of the Reichstag building in Berlin.

Meet Olympic champion Magdalena Neuner

Two-time Olympic champion and 12-time world champion Magdalena Neuner has been a B2Run ambassador since 2016 and will continue to support teams and participants with tips in the coming season. Thanks to her, runners will also get the chance to win exclusive "money-can't-buy" prizes at B2Run events. "It's always exciting to feel the energy of such many participants. That feeling you get on the finish line, when you have achieved your goals, is overwhelming", said Neuner ahead of the new season.Tickets are still available at www.b2run.de for all events of the B2Run season 2018.
