Mobility technology brand to work alongside event organisers to make access to the slopes easier and more efficient

Zug, Switzerland – Leading Italian mobility company Telepass has been named the Presenting Sponsor of the Cortina 2021 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Italy in an agreement brokered by Infront, the event’s exclusive media and marketing partner.

The sponsorship means Telepass will work together with Cortina 2021 to improve mobility and access for those attending the resort to ski and watch the event. This includes a new feature on the Telepass app which allows fans to create limited edition ski cards for the World Championship, removing the need for skiers to queue at the ticket office whilst also applying the best price rate for the amount of time spent on the slopes. The service is already active in another 20 ski areas and covers a total of over 1,500 km of pistes.

Valerio Giacobbi, CEO of Cortina 2021, said: "This partnership fills us with satisfaction because it guarantees an important legacy to the community through a technological innovation which will benefit the whole territory. Thanks to this agreement, Cortina will become a world leader in terms of transport and management of tourist flow, substantially contributing to the international relaunch of the resort."

Gabriele Benedetto, CEO of Telepass, said: "Telepass is a company that looks to the future and believes in growth through innovation. With the support of the Cortina 2021 World Championships, we want to send a positive signal to the world of sport and skiing in particular, with which we have a series of affinities. The consumer is at the centre of all of this with their desire to move in an efficient and fluid way, skipping the line.”

Michael Witta, Vice President Marketing Sales at Infront, said: "We are very pleased to have supported Cortina 2021 by reaching an agreement with a strategic partner in Telepass. Winter sports have always been linked to innovation, both in terms of equipment and digital services. We are delighted that Cortina 2021 will become a symbol of technological development and innovative service representing a modern and dynamic resort on for both sport and tourism.”
