20-year partnership extended for further five seasons across all FIS disciplines

Zug, Switzerland - Infront and the Swedish Ski Association announced today the prolongation of their partnership up until 2025/26. The agreement will see Infront manage the entire production and media rights distribution (including domestic rights) of all FIS Men’s and Women’s Alpine Ski, Cross-Country, Ski Jumping (including Ski Flying), Nordic Combined, Snowboard and Freestyle Ski World Cups in Sweden for the coming eight seasons.

With the partnership dating back to 1998, Infront and the Swedish Ski Association have significantly improved and contributed to the growth of the sport throughout the years.

”We are excited to continue growing our sports in Sweden and know Infront is the ideal partner to develop and show our sports to fans in modern and attractive ways”, said Ola Strömberg, Secretary General of the Swedish Ski Association.

Bruno Marty, Infront Senior Vice President Winter Sports said: "After 20 years of successful cooperation with the Swedish Ski Association, we are glad to further strengthen our FIS World Cup portfolio in the Nordic countries, where we have already renewed our agreements with Finland until 2026. This enables us to plan in the long term to continue enhancing production and exploiting digital platforms to bring fans closer to the action."

Sweden, and more specifically the town of Åre, will also play host to the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2019 from 5-17 February. Winter sports fans will benefit from Infront and the Swedish Ski Association's streamlined and efficient collaboration to ensure delivery of another great event.

Maximising FIS World Cup exposure

Infront has agreements with nearly all of the National Ski Associations that carry out FIS World Cup events worldwide, enabling Infront to market its FIS World Cup events on a collective basis, creating maximum exposure for the sport around the globe.

The deal with the Swedish Ski Association is just the latest of many prolongations of Infront’s media agreements with national ski federations. Most of them have already extended their partnerships with Infront until 2026.

Big start in Soelden

This weekend, the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup season kicks off with the classic event in Soelden. Home hero Marcel Hirscher and several other top Giant Slalom athletes are ready to set up a big show for the usual season opening on the legendary Rettenbach glacier.
