Having initiated the marketing partnership two months ago, Infront now secured a Naming Rights Partner for the German top-tier basketball league

Frankfurt, Germany - The German Basketball Bundesliga is to start the 2016/17 season with a new Naming Rights Partner – easyCredit. TeamBank AG, a company of the DZ BANK Group based in Nuremberg, secured the Naming Rights to the league for its easyCredit product brand and will also act as the league’s new Strategic Partner. The contract was negotiated by Infront Sports & Media and is to run until the 2020/21 season with a further three year extension option. As a result, the league will start its 51st season with the new name “easyCredit Basketball Bundesliga” (BBL easyCredit). Both parties agreed not to disclose the financial details of the contract.

The partnership between the BBL and easyCredit includes extensive advertising and communication campaigns. A composite league logo will be featured on the team jerseys, on the game ball and through floor signage - providing valuable exposure across all events. Furthermore, easyCredit branding will be featured on LED advertising boards in camera view across 18 arenas.

Milestone in the history of the league

Alexander Boldyreff, CEO of TeamBank AG, said: “We are very happy to be embarking on this partnership and are excited about the five years to come. Our easyCredit product guarantees fairness in every situation. This perfect fit with the sport of basketball was the decisive reason for us. The Basketball Bundesliga is therefore an ideal partner.”

Dr. Stefan Holz, Managing Director of the BBL, added: “The cooperation with easyCredit is more than a classic sponsorship commitment as it is designed to be a strategic partnership. This marks a milestone in the history of the league and reflects the high potential and appeal of the platform. The long-term commitment from easyCredit shows that the brand aims to write a joint success story. Five years are a clear statement and a promise to help shape the BBL sports product. This is a win-win situation for both parties.”

Reinhardt Weinberger, Managing Director of Infront Germany, added: “This cooperation with the BBL will provide easyCredit with access to a large, young, digital-savvy target group and nationwide exposure. The league on the other hand, will benefit from long-term planning security and another important step forward in the commercialisation of the platform. Following only two months of partnership with the BBL, we have already found a Naming Rights Partner for the league – a testament for the appeal of basketball.”
