Media production, rights distribution and sponsorship initiatives to provide fully comprehensive service for tournament's first edition

Guangzhou, China – The 2018 HSBC BWF World Tour reaches its final destination of Guangzhou, China, on Wednesday with the start of the inaugural HSBC BWF World Tour Finals.

Infront, as the exclusive media and marketing partner of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), will bring their expertise across a range of services for the federation, its commercial partners and fans.

Exposure on and off-court for sponsors

Tournament sponsors will benefit from enhanced and more sophisticated exposure on the field of play to provide better brand awareness. Other sponsors include beverage producers Moutai (who were unveiled as latest sponsor on Tuesday), energy company TOTAL, Chinese property developers R&F, domain and web hosting company GoDaddy, Elo water, sporting and athletic goods company Li-Ning and Automobile company Chery.

Fans will be able to enjoy interactive games and activations in the fan village and on the court, alongside more access to the stars through player meet and greet sessions organised in sponsor booths and hospitality lounges.

A world-class production for a global audience

Infront will also be responsible for the media production of the tournament, drawing upon several decades of expertise from some of the world's most prestigious sports events.

Sixty matches will be played across two courts for the first three days with the action moving to one court for the semi-finals and finals on the last two days. Court one will boast 14 cameras whilst court two will have 10. Both courts will also provide super and ultra-slow motion shots through specialised cameras, capturing the intrinsic moments of every game.

Gill Clarke MBE, four-time European and two-time Commonwealth Games champion, will lead the commentary team for the world feed.

The tournament will be broadcast across 79 territories via 32 TV broadcasters, and increase from 23 broadcasters in 2017. The event will be made available on the BWF YouTube Channel (BadmintonWorld.TV) and the Olympic Channel to further enhance the viewership of this event, in markets where TV coverage is unavailable.

An exciting end to an intriguing season

The HSBC BWF World Tour Finals will bring to a close the inaugural year of the revamped World Tour.

The restructured HSBC BWF World Tour has appealed to fans and players alike, with higher prize money, more tournaments, greater coverage on television and spectacular presentation.

For each of the five categories (Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles), eight players and pairs who accumulated the highest-ranking points at the end of the circuit will compete for the season championship title.
