Infront Media Production for FIS
The International Ski Federation and Infront introduced high quality news footage of various FIS World Cups - encouraging greater coverage of the less well known, yet booming disciplines of snowboard and freestyle skiing.
Boosting awareness and exposure for skiing
Aiming to expand coverage, clips were produced for all FIS Alpine, Snowboard and Freestyle World Cup events where Infront managed media rights. Producing the images and distributing the rights from one central source encouraged broadcasters to show news highlights of all the events, specifically the more up-and-coming disciplines.
Delivering FIS World Cup images from one central source
While fans are able to access the video content via the established FIS discipline websites, broadcasters were provided with a dedicated download platform offering broadcast quality FIS Freestyle and Snowboard news. For the 2013/14 and 2014/15 season, the project confirmed the free distribution of freestyle and snowboard World Cup news clips, and fans were given access to coverage across all disciplines on a dedicated FIS YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/fis). In addition to the news project, Infront produces weekly TV magazine programming throughout the winter season such as the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup Report, the FIS Snowboard World Cup Magazine and the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup Magazine. Each episode features race action, athlete profiles and reports from the best World Cup races.
