Liga Stavok back IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships as new Official Sponsor

Five-year agreement between Russian betting company and International Ice Hockey Federation brokered by Infront

Zug, Switzerland – Liga Stavok has been named an Official Sponsor of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in the betting sector after Infront, the International Ice Hockey Federation’s (IIHF) exclusive media and marketing partner, and the Russian betting company agreed a five-year deal.

The collaboration will begin at the 2021 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship which takes place from May 21 to June 6.
As part of the agreement Liga Stavok’s logo will appear on rink boards whilst also having the right to use the official IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship logo in its advertising materials.

The partnership also covers the next four IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships due to take place in Helsinki and Tampere, Finland (2022); St. Petersburg, Russia (2023); Prague and Ostrava, Czech Republic (2024); Sweden and Denmark (cities have not yet been determined, 2025).

Yuri Krasovsky, President of Liga Stavok, said: “On this day we sign a global agreement which is unprecedented in the Russian betting industry. Hockey remains our country’s favourite sport and we are proud to be the official partner of the FHR and the Russian national team since 2017. No other sport in Russia has a history as rich as hockey does and we will continue to popularise the glorious history of the sport through this partnership.”

Horst Lichtner, General Secretary of the IIHF, said: “It is very important for us that a company which values the development and popularisation of sports has become an official partner of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. We know that Liga Stavok has been successfully cooperating with the leading sports federations and leagues in Russia for many years. We see how much the company invests in the development of the sport and are confident that our collaboration will be as successful and effective as possible for both parties.”
