Immersive experience allows fans to sample unique cycling event

Zug, Switzerland – Kinomap, the app that turns your bike trainer into a fitness device, and Hammer Series have today unveiled “Hammer Series on Kinomap”, which allows fans to compete at each race through simulated outdoor footage.

The new partnership will help expand the cycling season and introduce a new audience to the Hammer Series' unique format.

Kinomap is cycling's largest geo-located video sharing platform in the world and offers cyclists, runners and rowers the opportunity to train and compete at outdoor venues through simulations.

The new agreement means that by 16 October 2018 fans equipped with a home-trainer will be able to practise and experience the Hammer Series in the comfort of their home.

The Hammer Indoor Series uses original race footage from this year's events in Stavanger, Limburg and last weekend's edition in Hong Kong. Kinomap's technology allows the participants to compete in lifelike conditions, experiencing road variation and elevation through the resistance of their home-trainer.

Training is already available on this year's Hammer Climb course from Stavanger and new videos will be unveiled every week and added to the "Hammer Series on Kinomap" playlist. To take part, download the Kinomap's mobile app for iOS or Android.

Philippe Moity, Kinomap President, said: “With the focus on indoor cycling, we’re delighted to offer this unique workout experience to ride with pro riders on real races. To perform such indoor and remote races, we have introduced the new interactive multiplayer game feature. Users in the Kinomap community can connect directly with one another by joining live sessions every hour to challenge, compete, and share the experience. With the gaming element and the responsive app that you can use on your phone or tablet, we are confident that the operation "Hammer Series on Kinomap" will be a big success.”

Julian Buehler, Hammer Series Head of Marketing & Sales said: "After successfully introducing the Hammer Series to the world in 2017 and 2018, we are thrilled to deliver the excitement of the new race formats to every cyclist around the globe. One of the reasons that the Hammer Series has seen so much success is its ability to engage and immerse fans in the event and with the professional riders. We can further that connection between riders and supporters by bringing the races indoor together with Kinomap, offering a unique virtual experience and opening up the concept of the Hammer Series to a new audience. Hammer Series often talks about engaging the fans, now amateurs can enter the professional's playground."
